Alternate Reality
Coconut Leaves, Paper Clips, Staples, Twine
This project consists of a headpiece and a body piece created mainly using coconut leaves. It is a play on what people may consider elegant. When people think of Central American countries, oftentimes what comes to mind is poverty. I wanted to show how traditional tribal wear could be considered elegant by staging it in a Baroque painting styled setting with dim light and warm tones.

Fictional Tools
Using materials from home, this is a small collection of unexpected tools designed to serve a new purpose than its original intention.

Cut paper on gouache
(digitally edited)
12" x 12"

Figure/Ground
This project consists of cut white paper on top of a square paper painted over with gouache. The word I was left with from the in-class exercise was Simplicity. I chose a font that I think best represents simplicity and edited the photo of my composition to make it more dynamic.
Point, Line, Plane
Cut paper, paint
8" x 8"
These two pieces of cut black and white paper were inspired by Nicaraguan scenery. I focused on the viewer's perspective from life on an island to traveling towards a volcano.
Dynamism
Gouache on paper
3 compositions, each 12" x 12"
This project required 3 compositions to display a symmetrical and an asymmetrical balance using 3 symbols as well as 3 colors. The symbols along with the primary color scheme display elements of rhythm, balance, and scale.
EduMusicArtchive
This project was a collaboration of 4 students in total. We set out to show how music and art can be one. We did so by focusing on sound sculpture. The group executed a sound sculpture performance for the final project. Each student individually worked on their own sculpture to then bring these individual sounds together in the video performance.

Entire project and sound sculpture performance can be viewed here:

GThreeA
GThreeA is an artist collective that seeks to change the parking garage experience. This project was made possible through the joint effort of 4 students. The goal was to provide an eccentric approach to the perspective of parking garages and turn them into an immersive art experience. With the participation of FIU's 3D design students, GThreeA was able to host a fashion show which showcased the body sculptures tied to social distancing that the students created.

Entire project and Fashion Show can be viewed here:
Survival Mode
Duct Tape, Seran
Whenever I find myself overwhelmed or stressed about a certain situation I lean heavily on my work to keep my mind distracted. This tape body sculpture exemplifies how I get through those tough times. By keeping myself preoccupied.
6 Feet Apart
Chicken wire, synthetic silk
This wearable sculpture was created to aid in social distancing by using this cone-like design. The cone is made out of chicken wire with silk-like fabric woven through it. It was inspired by the dog cone design.
