Gabriela Martinez is a fourth-year student at Florida International University’s College of Communication, Architecture + The Arts, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Digital Arts under the Graphic Design track and a minor in Art History. She attended Miami Springs Senior High School’s Academy of Information Technology where she coded and designed her own video games. She was awarded 1st place at the Miami Dade County Youth Fair for her video games, the Gold Key in the Scholastics Art & Writing Awards, and the South Florida Affiliate Honorable Mention of the National Center for Women & Information Technology Award for Aspirations in Computing.

 After Gabriela graduated high school she went on to attend Miami Dade College where she graduated with the highest honors and earned her Associate of Arts in Graphic Art. During her time at Miami Dade College, Gabriela was able to maintain her spot on the Dean’s List every semester, she became a Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholar and was given the opportunity to study graphic design in Berlin, Germany, and Zurich, Switzerland. 

 Gabriela’s interest in graphic design stems from her love for the arts and computing. She currently exercises design principles at Miami Edtech working alongside founder and CEO Carlos Vazquez. Upon completion of her undergraduate studies, Gabriela intends to apply to graduate school to further her knowledge of graphic design and digital art.
